A person is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence ( DUI ), after a police pursuit led to their arrest Friday night. Nisqually Indian Tribal Police initiated a pursuit of a suspected DUI driver off Reservation Road Southeast in Thurston County . They were assisted by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) which was able to spike all four tires of the suspect vehicle, but the driver continued to flee.
According to TCSO, the vehicle spun around and then rammed a TCSO deputy head-on. The driver then backed into the passenger side doors of another TCSO deputy. That deputy conducted a “tactical vehicle intervention” where they rammed the suspect vehicle off the interstate and into soft dirt where they got stuck and eventually surrendered
