Police say they have now charged the Queens man who allegedly went on an unprovoked stabbing spree in Woodside over the weekend, brutally assaulting his neighbors from a wheelchair.man who allegedly went on an unprovoked stabbing spree against his neighbors on Saturday has been charged with attempted murder and other criminal counts, law enforcement sources said Sunday.
According to authorities, 38-year-old Kareem Philips randomly began stabbing and slashing people outside of his Woodside home on Saturday. The whole episode unfolded at 31-21 54th St. at around 12:30 p.m. on March 16 when the wheelchair-bound Philips began his relentless attack, spurring several 911 calls.rushed to the scene to discover a 57-year-old man with a stab wound to the back and a 69-year-old woman who suffered a stab wound to her torso as well as a laceration to her cheek.
A short time later, cops were alerted to a third victim, a 35-year-old man who arrived at Mount Sinai Hospital in Queens with a stab wound to the chest, telling medical staff that he had also been a victim of the same perpetrator. Finally, police learned of a 46-year-old woman who walked into the 114th Precinct stationhouse with an arm laceration, telling them she had been attacked in the same incident.
Meanwhile, officers quickly cuffed Philips, who is apparently known in the area as being mentally unstable.
