Cosplayer Shady Haze brings Conner Kent, the Superboy of the 1990s who debuted after the Death of Superman, to life in all his leather jacketed glory.
The Conner Kent version of Superboy is perhaps the ultimate example of a ’90s hero, something that is captured to perfection by cosplayer Shady Haze.
Posting her work to Instagram, Shady Haze captures the pure essence of Conner Kent, the Superboy of the 1990s who made his debut shortly after the landmark storyline “The Death of Superman.” Every detail fans would want is present in Shady’s work, from Conner Kent's leather jacket to the rounded sunglasses to the earring. Shady even goes the extra mile in displaying the character’s classic fade haircut.
Nature abhors a vacuum, however, and so it wasn’t long before another Superboy was introduced in DC Comics. This version was a clone made from the DNA of both Superman and Lex Luthor who made his debut following Superman’s death as one of four replacement Supermen operating in Metropolis during the “Reign of the Supermen” storyline.
Although Conner Kent has gone through several looks throughout the years, fans will probably always equate Superboy with his classic ’90s look, something captured to perfection in Shady Haze’s impressive cosplay.
