Super typhoon Mawar has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Saturday morning, PAGASA reported.
Mawar was reported within PAR by 2: 00 a.m. and will be called Betty in the cyclone bulletins that would be issued by the weather bureau.
The super typhoon will continue to accelerate moving in the west northwest direction before gradually decelerating on Sunday while maintaining its direction. Mawar may weaken at a faster rate beginning Monday during its slowdown period due to potential unfavorable conditions although it is expected to remain a typhoon until the end of the forecast period.
