Summit Metro Parks on Tuesday celebrated the addition of new amenities at the Valley View Area of Cascade Valley Metro Park, located at 1212 Cuyahoga St.

The park district has been working to restore the property, formerly the site of Valley View Golf Course, to a more natural state for nearly a decade. The park district purchased the property in 2016 for $4 million. Since then, it has invested $6 million in grant funding into the property, according to Executive Director Lisa King.
It is work that has paid off, according to the park district, which has partnered with EnviroScience, Inc. to conduct Index of Biotic Integrity monitoring of the river for five years.
