The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Eagles on a field goal with 8 seconds remaining.
The Eagles had two New Jersey natives playing in the big game: linebacker Haason Reddick, of Camden, who attended Haddon Heights High School, and long snapper Rick Lovato, of Middletown, who went to Middletown South High School. Linebacker Shaun Bradley, who is from Mount Holly and attended Rancocas Valley High School, was sidelined due to an injury. Reddick and Bradley played for Temple University.
The Chiefs also had two players from New Jersey on the field: running back Isiah Pacheco, of Vineland, a Vineland High School graduate, and fullback Michael Burton, of Washington Township , who attended West Morris Central High School. Both Pacheco and Burton played for Rutgers University.
