A Prattville student is giving back to her school in a big way!
Published: Feb. 8, 2024 at 5:09 AM CSTMONTGOMERY, Ala. -A Prattville student is giving back to her school in a big way, donating $2,500 to help improve her classmates’ access to mental health and wellness resources.
Julia Griffin is a senior at Prattville High School. She started a non-profit called the Youth Wellness Foundation over the Summer, dedicated to promoting mental, physical, and emotional wellness in underserved schools and communities. Her donation to the school will sponsor Youth Mental Health First Aid courses for Prattville High School teachers and counselors. These courses are facilitated by The National Council for Mental Wellbeing. They are designed to equip educators with the skills necessary to reach out and offer initial assistance and support to students facing mental health crises or substance use challenges.
