Jackson Zinn, a 22-year-old college student from Westminster, was among nine people who died in a fiery crash in West Texas involving University of the Southwest golf teams.
A junior at the University of the Southwest, a private Christian school in in Hobbs, N.M., Zinn was majoring in hospitality management, with a minor in sports management. A competitive golfer, Zinn planned to pursue a management career with the PGA, according to the university’s men’s golf webpage.
Zinn’s “Best Sports Memory” was winning his first Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour event, the Southwest Mustangs website said. Zinn was a First Team All-Conference golfer in 2017 while at Ralston Valley, a Jeffco Public Schools high school. He listed his favorite sports team as the Denver Broncos. Zinn is survived by his parents, Jennifer Jackson and Greg Zinn; and two siblings, Avery and Audrey.
