Strong to severe storms will be possible in the areas in yellow and dark green this afternoon.Hot and humid weather will lead to more summertime pop-up showers and storms over the next three days in Alabama.NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has added the risk for severe weather for parts of Alabama for each of the next three days.Today the most likely area to be on the receiving end of strong storms will be eastern Alabama.
The SPC has a Level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather in place for the northeastern corner of Alabama, including Huntsville, and a Level 1 risk for areas farther to the south . A Level 2 risk means that scattered severe storms will be possible. A Level 1 risk means isolated severe storms are possible.Here is Friday’s severe weather outlook:Again, damaging winds and heavy rain will be possible with the strongest storms on Friday. Most of them will develop during the afternoon and evening hours.
