Texas A&M cross country runner Spencer Werner arrested after streaking at baseball game vs. Texas
Tuesday's Texas A&M vs. Texas baseball game in College Station was interrupted by a streaker rushing the field at Blue Bell Park.COLLEGE STATION — A streaker who mooned the Blue Bell Park crowd on a dash across the baseball diamond and then a climb of the outfield wall is a freshman on the Texas A&M cross country team, according to the A&M athletics website.
A&M police arrested Spencer Werner, 19, on Tuesday night on charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct/exposure. Werner in the fifth inning of Texas’s 5-2 victory over A&M inexplicably ran onto the field clad in a wrestling mask, tight black shorts and no shirt. He clutched a poster that read “Longhorns suck” and had “Trump 2024” scrawled on his chest.Werner, who’s from Wilmette, Ill.
Werner was named the SEC’s freshman runner of the week on Sept. 20 of last year. A&M baseball players were in the field at the time of Werner’s run and none really reacted to his antics, and no security gave chase on the field. Werner posted bonds totaling $2,800 on Wednesday.
