Scary scene at minor-league field in Massachusetts
Lee was immediately attended to by WooSox trainers and medical personnel. He walked off the field into the dugout under his own power, and was checked out by Polar Park EMTs.
Lee sat in the WooSox dugout for about an inning into the game before he was escorted to a local hospital. He seemed in good spirits, laughing and talking with coaches and trainers while waiting in the dugout. “Bill Lee had a brief health scare, and while he seems to have recovered quickly, doctors have recommended checking him out at a nearby hospital just to be sure,” the WooSox said in a statement. “He has experienced such episodes before, and has been fine thereafter. He has, however, left the ballpark and will not be available for your photos and autographs. We wish him continued good health.”
