Musicians in New York still have three days left to apply to a guaranteed income program that will give them an extra $200 every month.
The payments from the Artist Grants Program will give $200 to six recipients selected by the Local Sound Collaborative. Recipients will receive these payments once a month starting in December. Applications will remain open until June 3, according to the organization.Applications for this program opened on April 3. The program will pay recipients once a month for a year.
To be eligible for this program, an applicant must live in the greater Rochester area of New York and be at least 18 years old. Additionally, he or she must identify as a member, worker, or participant within the local music community and demonstrate financial need.Recipients will be allowed to spend this $200 payment on whatever they please, including groceries, travel expenses, and new equipment for their music, among other needs.
