Steven Yeun will be joining the MCU with Marvel's Thunderbolts, and it's possible he could be playing Korea's version of Captain America.
Steven Yeun has been cast in Marvel's Thunderbolts, and it's possible he may be playing a hero not unlike Captain America. Confirmed to have been cast in a role that will keep him in the MCU for years to come, the implication is that Yeun will play a new superhero or villain rather than a one-off character. As such, there are some intriguing possibilities and one very new comic character who'd be very exciting for the Walking Dead and Invincible actor to bring to life.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Reported to have strong ties with Captain America: New World Order, it's been confirmed that Thunderbolts will pick up right where the new movie starring Sam Wilson's Captain America will leave off. It's already known that Thunderbolts will feature a government-sanctioned team of former villains and anti-heroes and that they'll be led by Bucky Barnes' Winter Soldier.
Another possibility is that Yeun will be playing Amadeus Cho, a gifted young genius from South Korea who eventually becomes a version of the Hulk known as Brawn. This would certainly be interesting as Yeun is of Korean descent along with Harrison Ford's confirmed role as Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: New World Order and his potential to become a rival Red Hulk.
Steven Yeun Could Play New Captain America Character Taegukgi Following other current Captain Americas such as Sam Wilson, Isaiah Bradley, John Walker, and the multiverse's Captain Carter, Steven Yeun could end up playing South Korea's own patriotic hero named Tae-Won, aka Taegukgi. The name for South Korea's flag, Taegukgi's costume carries elements of the flag similar to Captain America's suit and shield.
Created by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Vitti, and Joey Vazquez in 2021, Tae-Won is a member of the government-sanctioned team known as Tiger Division, a squad of South Korean heroes led by the White Fox. It's also been revealed that Tae-Won had a criminal history before the accident that gave him his powers and motivated his turn to the light.
