Sarkisian joined ESPN’s “College GameDay” from a remote location, and Pat McAfee let the former Alabama offensive coordinator know just how the fans felt.In January 2019, Alabama re-hired Sarkisian, who had been an analyst, as the offensive coordinator. In 2020, Sarkisian served as interim head coach for Alabama’s 42–13 victory over Auburn after Nick Saban had to be quarantined due to COVID-19 protocols. At Alabama, Sarkisian coached quarterbacks Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa.
