Former President Trump's former senior adviser Steve Bannon must turn himself in to prison by July 1 for his contempt of Congress conviction after defying a congressional subpoena over the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, a judge appointed by Mr. Trump himself ruled Thursday.

Mr. Bannon was convicted in 2022 for declining to appear for a deposition with the House Jan. 6 committee probing the Capitol riot, and refusing to provide documents related to challenging the 2020 election results. He appealed to the Supreme Court to review his case and keep him from jail time while the appeal is pending, but the high court did not agree.
