In a video produced by the White House, several actors who have played American presidents on-screen imparted words of wisdom to President Biden in preparation for Thursday night’s State of the Union address. Biden was joined on a video call with Morgan Freeman, Tony Goldwyn, Geena Davis, Michael Douglas and Bill Pullman.
Pullman, who played the president in “Independence Day,” and Freeman, who took on the presidential role in “Deep Impact,” both pointed out that all they had to deal with was what was coming down on Earth from space. “All I had to deal with was a meteor,” Freeman said, adding, “My advice is just keep telling us how you’re working for us and building hope.” Goldwyn said Biden should tell the American public “you exist for them” and advised the president to wind down from the speech with ice cream.
