Stars hope adjustments can get their out-of-sync power play back on track vs. Flames | MDeFranks

Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin, left, is checked by Calgary Flames center Dillon Dube during the second period of Game 2 of an NHL hockey Stanley Cup first-round playoff series in Calgary, Alberta, Thursday, May 5, 2022.The Stars’ power play enters Game 3 with zero goals in seven chances so far this series, a source of offense the Stars will need moving forward given the tight nature of the first couple games.

In the past, the Stars have used a spread power play formation to combat aggressive penalty kills, placing two players at the blue line, and three spread out along the icing line. The tactic creates more space in the middle of the ice for the Stars to execute seam passes.“They’re a little bit out of sync, that’s all,” Bowness said. “Not getting in and getting set up, not moving the puck quick enough and not getting enough shots.

“Sometimes, experience is huge in the playoffs,” Seguin said. “Sometimes, it’s like going to a golf course you haven’t played before. Sometimes you walk up and you play it better because you don’t know where the bad spots are. You can look at it both ways.”Fit guys:
