The Old Republic's Sith Empire is as fascinating as it was sinister, a major power before its inevitable fall in both Star Wars Legends and Canon.
Set in the early Star Wars era known as the Old Republic, the Sith Empire was a major force to be reckoned with before its inevitable fall ahead of the High Republic. As seen in both Legends and Canon, the Sith Empire is incredibly fascinating, existing at a time when there were just as many Sith as there were Jedi . However, the chaotic and power-hungry nature of the dark side ensured that the Sith Empire couldn't have lasted forever in the galaxy far, far away.
Eventually, Vitiate's Sith Empire would be discovered by the Jedi known as Revan during the Mandalorian Wars. Corrupted to the dark side by Vitiate, Darth Revan was meant to prepare the galaxy for the Sith Empire's return. Instead, Revan and his corrupted apprentice Malak chose to create their own Sith Empire. However, a twist of fate saw the Jedi Order capturing and restoring Revan's mind to the light, resulting in Revan facing and defeating his fallen apprentice.
The Sith Empire Still Exists In Star Wars Canon The Sith Empire does exist in the established Star Wars canon, though any references to the Old Republic that effectively re-canonize events and/or characters have thus far been few. That said, the existence of the "Qel-Droma Epics" has helped bring much of the Sith's history before the Great Hyperspace War back to canon such as Naga Sadow and his defeat along with the confirmed existence of Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma himself.
