Star Wars is missing a connection to the sequels.

Ahsoka episode 7 advances several of the different plots, opening by revisiting Hera Syndulla's storyline given she's remained back in the main Star Wars galaxy.
The political scenes in Ahsoka episode 7 serve as a reminder of the New Republic's weakness, with several senators - most notably Senator Xiono - presenting the arguments that would allow the Empire to rise again. The whole opening scene is set on the city-planet Coruscant, historically the capital of the galaxy. Unfortunately, that's actually something of a problem.
Coruscant Is Still The Galactic Capital In Ahsoka Coruscant is one of the Core Worlds in the Star Wars galaxy and is often considered the center of the galaxy. A city-covered planet, Coruscant is generally seen as the birthplace of humanity in this galaxy, and it served as the Republic's capital for 1,000 years - before being claimed by the Empire.
Why Will The New Republic Move To Hosnian Prime? The problem, though, is that the New Republic Senate is known to be destined to settle on another world - the Core World Hosnian Prime, which will be destroyed by Starkiller Base decades after Ahsoka in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This was an odd decision on Lucasfilm's part, likely explained by reluctance to destroy a popular world from the prequel trilogy, but it means there's an untold story.
It’s entirely possible that one of the reasons for the move could be Grand Admiral Thrawn. If Thrawn’s plan to invade the main Star Wars galaxy succeeds, he will likely have the means to attack the New Republic and destroy a planet housing its government like Coruscant. As more Star Wars content focused on the New Republic Era comes out, audiences will learn more about how the government changes planets.
