Sochan did not play in the Spurs’ first game after the break — a 142-116 loss at Dallas on Thursday — due to a sore quad muscle. “I think it’s a beautiful place,” Sochan said. “You look out your windows and see mountains and snow. It’s pretty.”Spurs coach Gregg Popovich took a brief leave from the team’s stay in Utah on Sunday, flying back to San Antonio in advance of the Red McCombs memorial service scheduled for Monday morning.McCombs died Feb. 19 at 95. The former auto magnate and billionaire entrepreneur was instrumental in bringing the Spurs to San Antonio in the 1970s.
