Originally premiered in 1999 on Nickelodeon, the cartoon follows the wacky adventures of the cheery and energetic sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea in the city of Bikini Bottom.

The cosplay captures nearly every signature aspect of Squidward's appearance, including his turquoise skin tone, large bulbous head, and long pointed nose. Check out the cosplay below:
Crawley, who admittedly knows little about SpongeBob and has never seen the show, explains that the cosplay was created in collaboration with fellow make-up artist Jackie Coon and based on clown make-up, which is likely what gives the cosplay its unsettlingly quality. The prosthetics were outsourced to another studio, which go a long way in making the Squidward cosplay look as accurate as his animated counterpart.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Franchise Is Still Popular Today Thanks to its passionate fan base and widespread internet popularity, SpongeBob SquarePants is still airing new episodes on Nickelodeon to this day. The show is currently in the midst of season 13 and was already renewed for season 14, making it one of the longest-running animated series in the history of American television.
