The sketch was a fake commercial for Spirit Halloween starring Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman and Michael Longfellow as employees touting the chain as a homey company that revitalizes communities.
“We are great at raising things back from the dead @nbcsnl,” it wrote on X, alongside a photo of a packaged fake costume called “Irrelevant 50-year-old TV Show,” next to the words “SNL 50 The Anniversary Edition.” The package says it comes with “dated references,” “unknown cast members” and “shrinking ratings.” Spirit Halloween’s post had fans cackling. “Not gonna lie: This was funnier than many of the skits I have recently watched on 'SNL.
