The film follows Detective Zeke Banks and his rookie partner , who have taken on a brutal murder investigation., the police force is becoming increasingly concerned about these murders, as they"are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past," which means that — while this is NOT a reboot or sequel — it does take place in the same universe as the previous films.
As this is a teaser trailer, there's not a ton of exposition, but we do get a good feel for the tone the film is going for — which seems to be even GRITTIER and DARKER than the originals.And, as if all of that's not enough to get you hooked, we also have Samuel L.
