After a nor’easter pummeled the Philadelphia region with snow, speed restrictions on several highways in Southeast Pennsylvania have been lifted, PennDOT says.
PHILADELPHIA — Previously, vehicles weren’t supposed to be going faster than 45 MPH due to the winter storm.I-295 from I-95 to the New Jersey state line.I-95 from the Delaware state line to New Jersey state line;On roadways with tie three restrictions in place, no commercial vehicles are permitted except single-loaded trailers with chains or approved Alternate Traction Devices.
Schools buses, commercial buses, motor coaches, motorcycles, RVs, passenger vehicles, and towing trailers are also not permitted. DOT officials are urging people to stay off the roads so crews can continue working.Earlier on Saturday, CBS3 spoke with New Jersey Department of Transportation about the efforts underway. Parts of Atlantic City are struggling to keep roads clear as crews battle blizzard condition and flooding.
