The mayor of South Fulton was arrested Saturday morning and is being charged with trespassing and burglary.
The City of South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau has apologized to those he serves after being arrested on felony burglary and trespassing charges. FOX 5 Atlanta was the only news station there when he was handcuffed and placed into the back of a patrol car.The mayor of South Fulton was arrested Saturday morning. Khalid Kamau was later booked into Fulton County Jail on the charges of criminal trespass and burglary in the first degree.
"The City of South Fulton is committed to upholding the law and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their position, are subject to the same fair and just treatment. As the investigation is still ongoing, we are unable to provide further details at this time." "I just wanted to see the house," Kamau told FOX 5 reporter Deidra Dukes. "I do apologize to the owners. I thought it was abandoned."
