South Alabama running backs coach Earnest Hill is expected to leave for a coaching job to UAB.
Hill is expected to coach defensive backs at UAB. Though he coached running backs at South Alabama, Hill’s background is largely on the defensive side of the ball.
Hill joined the Jaguars staff under first-year head coach Kane Wommack in 2021 after a long tenure as a high school coach. He led Mobile’s McGill-Toolen Catholic School to a 40-8 record in four seasons, including a Class 7A state championship game appearance in 2017.
