Nick Nurse has reached an agreement to become the next coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday.
Nurse won the 2019 championship with the Toronto Raptors and had a 227-163 record in five seasons with the team. He inherits a Sixers team that won 54 games last regular-season and features 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid. However another second-round exit in the postseason led to the firing of coach Doc Rivers and co-star James Harden is set to hit free agency this summer if he chooses to opt out of his player option.
