It’s a lovely “problem” to have—being on the receiving end of so much attention and affection. But in the midst of everything, you might be more likely to maintain your well-being if you carve out some “me time.
Moments alone can be incredibly fruitful, and not only for the replenishing silence. Time to yourself is, well, yours to do with what you will—and to sort out what you need to do before the wedding. That may mean fitting in a few extra spin classes, scheduling the final facial before showtime, or just hiding out—phone-free—in a luxurious, deep soaking tub. If you can turn that downtime into destination R&R, that’s all the better.
“Me time is always important, but it is essential before a wedding,” Kristi Dickinson, director of spa and wellness atoutside of San Diego, reasons. Fragranced with jasmine flowers and lush with citrus groves, the California property serves up me time with a hefty dose of indulgence. Hacienda-style suites—equipped with fireplaces and deep soaking tubs—are plush places to put your feet up for a few days, with only passing hummingbirds as company.
If that gets a little lonely, though, the resort holds 95 group fitness activities per week. There’s Sweat Cycle, Barre Sculpt, and a heart-pumping class called Pilates Jump Board. There are also cosmetic-lift facials at the spa—and a Goop-approved, six-layer chocolate cake—to temper the exertion with a little more indulgence., but fresh, organic meals do.
