HUNTSVILLE, Weber County — Snowbasin Resort announced its ski season will end April 23, marking the longest season in 80 years for the resort., resulting in 156 ski days on the calendar this season. The resort previously scheduled April 16 to be closing day but decided to add an extra week of skiing and riding, a news release from Snowbasin said.
"What a brilliant season we are having. One for the record books to be sure," said Davy Ratchford, general manager of Snowbasin Resort. "With the earliest opening we've ever had, and now this extra week, this will officially be Snowbasin's longest season on record." The resort received over 420 inches of snow, making it the 5th-snowiest season on record with more snow on the way, according to the news release.
"We're excited to keep the fun going and enjoy these incredible conditions together. I want to express my sincere appreciation to my staff for making this bonus week possible. It is simply not possible to make this happen without them," Ratchford said. Snowbasin Resort said in its announcement to be on the lookout for more surprises left in the season.
