On the same day, former UH stars Quentin Grimes, Fabian White and Galen Robinson Jr., among others, returned to one of the best homecourt advantages in college basketball as Sampson’s current team moved one victory closer toward a final goal that is now barely more than a month away. “I never thought it was a beauty contest,” Sampson said. “The last time I checked, you don’t put any asterisk on the side of anything. It’s just go win the game.”That’s been one of Sasser’s many adjustments this season, Sampson said, after a foot injury and shortened 2021-22 eventually led to his decision to return to UH for one more run in red.
