The trend of wet slushy snow continues Tuesday, but sun and drier conditions are on the way, though they won’t last long.
Pockets of rain and snow and wet snow are moving through Tuesday morning with temps mainly above freezing. We did see some minor and spotty slushy accumulation of around an inch or so north of Seattle, which is where most of the showers are Tuesday morning.
“I believe we will see more snow and wet snow showers, with very isolated areas of spotty accumulation especially north of Everett. There truly shouldn’t be much for most of the area,” said KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard.Later this morning and into the afternoon we will still have some scattered showers over the area that could have some wet snow mixed in if they are heavy enough.
On Wednesday, we should see some sunshine but also increasing high clouds with another rainy system coming in early on Thursday. There will be some snow mixed in to start with the snow level near the surface. Then snow levels should rise above 1,000 feet during the day with a lot of snow in the mountains.
Look for scattered showers on Friday and into the weekend, with some pockets of wet snow possible, especially in the overnight and early morning hours. However, during the day it will mostly be rain or if the showers are heavy, rain with some snow mixed in. Highs will be in the low 40s.
