The Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) 990 is investigating the source of the 990 kilos of suspected illegal drugs found in Manila in October 2022, which is also considered one of the biggest police drug hauls in the country.

In a report on "State of the Nation," authorities are looking into the possibility that the drugs were collected from various operations conducted by the police and stored at the lending company allegedly owned by Police Master Sergeant Rodolfo Mayo Jr..

The authorities are also looking into the angle of drug recycling or that the drugs were collected and earmarked to be sold in a later date. The recommendation of the SITG has been submitted to the Internal Affairs Service of the PNP-CIDG to file criminal and administrative charges against 49 policemen allegedly involved in stealing 42 kilos of shabu from the haul of confiscated drugs.
