SIGNAL No. 3 has been raised in the province of Cagayan and Isabela as Typhoon 'Goring' (international name Saola) intensified further, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
Affected areas are the northeastern portion of Cagayan ; and the extreme eastern portion of Isabela .Signal no. 2 remains over the eastern portion of Isabela ; eastern portion of Cagayan ; and the northern portion of Aurora .Signal no. 1 is up in Batanes; the rest of Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, central portion of Aurora ; Quirino; the rest of Isabela; Apayao; eastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya ; eastern portion of Ifugao ; eastern portion of Mountain Province ; and Kalinga.In its 11:00 a.
bulletin, Pagasa said the location of the center of Goring was estimated at 155 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.Its maximum sustained winds has intensified from 140 kilometers per hour to 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.'The southwest monsoon enhanced by Goring will bring occasional or monsoon rains over the western portions of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas over the next three days', Pagasa said.
