The previous four selectees came in the last three seasons . Ziaire Williams and Brandon Boston Jr. were selected in 2020. Amari Bailey and Kijani Wright were selected last season . Marvin Bagley III would’ve likely been a selection in 2018 as the No. 1 recruit in the country, but he reclassified in 2017 and left early as a high school junior to play at Duke.
Bronny’s selection comes with a splash of controversy surrounded by the notion that his inclusion in the prestigious event is because of his father and not because of his own merit. Bronny’s final three college choices have been reported to be Ohio State, Oregon and USC despite Oregon not having offered a scholarship to the 6-foot-3 guard. LeBron James was asked about that Sunday night after the Lakers’ win in Portland over the Trail Blazers.
