One 47-year-old victim is now at Harborview in 'satisfactory' condition, according to the hospital.
SEATTLE — A 47-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center after a shooting occurred nearThe shooting happened in the afternoon near 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Children inside the Seattle daycare heard shots firing outside the building on Monday. The bullets shattered the windows. Plywood was used to cover over the broken window.
Appollonia Washington, co-owner of A4 Apple Learning Center, said children were in circle time and transitioning to afternoon snack time when they heard the shots. "My immediate reaction was to tell the children to army crawl," Washington said."And I’m glad I told them to army crawl, because I saw glass shatter. I had 24 children sitting in front of me. And this is something they knew to do because this is something that we practice because of the area we are in.”"I don't want to experience this again," Washington said."Can we get patrol? Can we get officers walking by, you know? This freaks me out.
