Cleveland police are investigating after gunshots were targeted at officers and residents early Tuesday morning in the 9300 block of Pratt Avenue.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Someone opened fire at police and residents Tuesday in a drive-by shooting on Cleveland’s East Side, police said.Police about 1:30 a.m. initially went to a home on Pratt Avenue and East 93rd Street after someone called police and reported someone drove by the home and fired gunshots at their home and cars.
Within two minutes of arriving, a vehicle drove by and fired shots at the officers, according to police. Bullets hit the police officer’s cruisers. Police determined it was not safe to return fire at the car, officials said. It is unknown if those who fired shots at the officers were the same people who earlier shot at the home.
“I am grateful this incident did not result in injuries to the citizens and officers,” Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd said in a statement. “We will investigate this incident thoroughly until those responsible are located and arrested.” If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
