An 18-year-old was hospitalized after a shootout with police in the 4100 block of SW Military Drive on Aug. 5, 2022.An 18-year-old man was hospitalized after a shootout with police on a Southwest Side road late Thursday night. The unidentified suspect is in critical condition.
Police were searching for the teenager because he had allegedly shot at his girlfriend's vehicle sometime Thursday evening, San Antonio Police. The officers on the call knew the suspect from prior contact and went to speak with the suspect's father at his home. The suspect showed up at his father's home, but when he saw the officers, he fled in his vehicle and they gave chase.
During the pursuit, the suspect suddenly stopped in the 4100 block of S.W. Military Drive, got out of the vehicle and started firing at police.At least four officers were involved in the shooting. McManus said no one else was hit.
