A man is on the run after deputies raided a major dog fighting ring on Saturday.
According to Mobile County Sheriff’s Office , on June 8, around 8 p.m., deputies executed a search warrant at a residence located at 13020 Williams Avenue in Axis, Alabama, after a report of a possible dog fight happening.
MCSO detectives say they located an active criminal dog fighting ring at the location and arrested 29 suspects. There were 32 dogs, 11 guns seized, about 15 pounds of marijuana and $8,383 taken from the home.Deputies believe Marks is the person who set up the dog fighting event. “Mr. Marks has a lengthy history with law enforcement,” said Sheriff Burch. “His arrest history is full of drug trafficking charges, domestic violence, and assault charges. We are looking for him now and if anyone has any information as to his whereabouts, please call our office 251-574-8633 and let us know.”
The Mobile County Animal Shelter is currently housing the dogs that were rescued from the dog fighting. This has caused the shelter to be over capacity. If anyone is interested in adopting some of the dogs that have been at the shelter,
