Authorities are investigating after the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County reported last week that an employee stole funds from the union.

“The investigation is contingent upon a thorough audit to determine the actual theft amount,” he said. “No San Diego County Sheriff’s Department employees are implicated in any wrongdoing at this time.”According to NBC 7 The union launched an internal audit that uncovered the theft — as well as “improprieties found related to the sale, purchase and transfer of firearms” at the union store, according to the TV news station.
