– Officials said that a shelter-in-place was issued for residents in certain areas of west Harris County after a chemical leak containing anhydrous ammonia was detected at a warehouse Sunday morning.

Officials from multiple departments, including Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Houston Fire responded to the leak at around 4:24 a.m. at a 99 Cent warehouse, located in the 23600 block of Colonial Parkway near Grand Parkway.The southern boundary of Kingsland Boulevard between Highway 99 and South Mason RoadThe northern boundary of Mason Creek between Highway 99 to North Mason Road

The west boundary of Highway 99 between Kingsland Blvd and Mason Creek with a small section northwest of I-10 and Highway 99 intersections between Colonial Parkway and Mercantile, extending westward to 23623 Colonial ParkwayOfficials did not say how long the shelter-in-place will remain. Anyone experiencing watery eyes, burning eyes irritation of the nose and throat, must seek medical care immediately, according to officials with Harris County Public Health Department.All of the feeder roads heading towards 23600 block of Colonial Parkway near Grand Parkway. We’re told there is a chemical leak at a warehouse in that area.
