THE Sharks Billiards Association (SBA) is deciding which should be considered the “epicenter of billiards” in the country, from where the fourth team in its inaugural tournament will be formed.
SBA Chief Operating Officer Mark Orendain, CEO Hadley Mariano and commissioner Chino Trinidad discuss plans for the association’s inaugural season.
It’s either the National Capital region or Pampanga that will battle it out for honors against Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in the professional pool league set later this year. “There are good players everywhere. But which place should be acknowledged the epicenter? Is it Manila or is it somewhere in Pampanga, the birthplace of Efren “Bata” Reyes?”
“The league will start with those who don’t play outside the country. But definitely there are top players in the country,” Mariano said in the weekly session presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Milo, Smart/PLDT and the leading sports entertainment gateway in the country ArenaPlus.
