Porter Airlines announced new flights from San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) to Toronto, with perks that flyers haven’t experienced in generations.
While most air travel companies are cutting more and more perks to save costs, one airline is going in the opposite direction. On Oct. 3, the Canadian-based Porter Airlines announced new nonstop service from San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles to Toronto , complete with certain perks that flyers haven’t experienced in generations.

Passengers fly on the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which Porter notes is “65% quieter and up to 25% more fuel efficient than previous-generation technology.” “We are thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines to SFO. This service offers San Francisco Bay Area travelers an exciting new way to Canada and reflects our own commitment to making travel more sustainable,” SFO Airport Director Ivar Satero said in a statement.
