Jaiden Rose Rentas CLEVELAND, Ohio - A 17-year-old boy convicted of killing a 15-year-old Cleveland girl in 2022 was scheduled to be sentenced by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Cassandra Collier-Williams Wednesday; however, the sentencing was continued to May 30. Steven Fisher pleaded guilty in April to the murder of Jaiden Rose Rentas.
Cleveland Police said Jaiden Rentas, 15, was shot and killed by Steven Fisher. Fisher was 16 at the time of the murder.Fisher pleaded guilty to reckless homicide, grand theft, gross abuse of a corpse, and possession of stolen property. Rentas’s body was found inside a vehicle in the city’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood in Oct. 28, 2022.
Cleveland police said they were called to a field in the 3700 block of W. 22nd Street around 2:30 p.m. for a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they said they found the vehicle running with the windshield wipers on. Rentas was pronounced dead at the scene of a gunshot wound.
