Senator Lito Lapid on Tuesday called for an investigation into the people behind the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator hub in Porac, Pampanga.“Nararapat na magsagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon upang malaman kung sino ang mga taong tunay na nagmamay-ari ng mga lupa at mga building na ginagamit sa POGO at ang kompanyang nagpapatakbo dito nang sa ganun malaman ang buong katotohanan kung sino talaga ang nasa likod ng mga POGO,” Lapid said in a statement.
For her part, Senator Grace Poe noted that a ban on POGOs would save the government money as raids on such facilities have become costly already. “For every operation against a POGO, the government spends millions for the personnel needed, food, and shelter of the rescued, deportation of undesirables, filling of court cases, and other related expenses,” she said. “We reiterate our call for a resolute policy banning POGOs.
