Sen. Warren wins endorsement of progressive Working Families Party that supported Sanders in 2016
The Working Families Party endorsed 2020 presidential candidate and Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren on Monday.
Warren won the ranked-choice poll with over 60% of the vote, showing her strong support with the liberal elements of the party in the 2020 race. "Our job now is to help Senator Warren build the mass movement that will make her transformational plans a reality." Warren won the endorsement with a massive 60.91% of the vote, compared to the 35.82% for runner-up SandersThe ranked-choice poll also featured former Housing and Urban Development secretary Julian Castro, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and New Jersey senator Cory Booker, who were all considered after participating in a question-and-answer forum with the party's members.
