BREAKING: Semi-truck bursts into flames on I-80
The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. on westbound I-80 near 1300 East. The incident closed the freeway in both directions.
Salt Lake City Police said the situation is being handled by the SLC Fire Department and Utah Highway Patrol. By about 9:45, it appeared that the flames in the truck's cab were mostly extinguished. There were also other pieces of debris scattered along the freeway that were on fire.
