With only a few days left until Selection Sunday, not much has changed for Texas schools in NCAA Tournament projections, as the state is in position to land three of the top eight seeds in the field. The University of Houston remains firmly locked into one of the four No. 1 regional seeds and is in contention for the top overall seed heading into this week’s American Athletic Conference tournament in Fort Worth. The other four teams in contention for a No. 1 seed, according to bracket projections, include Kansas, Alabama, UCLA and Purdue.
Texas and Baylor are in line for a 2-seed, while TCU is listed as a 5-seed in most projections. Texas A&M — which beat Alabama to end the regular season — has seen its stock rise and is projected anywhere from a 5- to 7-seed.
