Residents in a Holladay neighborhood are still dealing with the aftermath of a mysterious flood that occurred in May.
Homeowner Tatiana, who asked we only use her first name, said her basement started flooding after a big rain in the middle of May.Tatiana’s basement, as well as four other homes in the neighborhood, were constantly pumping out water, but it wasn’t enough.“My daughter liked it here, she actually spend most of her time here,” Tatiana said. “It’s inconvenient.”
Tatiana has spoken to multiple adjusters who told her the source of the water is most likely not the nearby Big Cottonwood Creek, but rather seepage.Tatiana has homeowners insurance, but she doesn’t think that policy will cover the damage. She also said the homeowner’s association has flood insurance, but she’s not sure if that will cover the damage either.Tatiana doesn’t know how much financial damage has been done, but she admitted the experience has made her think about moving.
