Champions in Class 6A and Class 1A will be crowned on Wednesday while Class 5A opens play during the third day of the AHSAA softball state championship tournament at Oxford’s Choccolocco Park.
The Class 6A championship is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Signature Stadium with the Class 1A title game at 5. Class 5A first round action begins at 9 a.m. and continues through the winners bracket final and two rounds of elimination play. In the Class 6A elimination games, Gardendale leads 2-0 over Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa in the third inning.
