According to state data released Thursday, only 5.7% of Utah's population has received a bivalent booster dose.

Last week, the state reported that 2,063,394 people were fully vaccinated, accounting for 63.5% of Utah’s population. This week, the state introduced a new vaccination breakdown that shows the number of Utah’s who’ve completed a primary vaccine series. According to the new breakdown, 2,059,783 people — or 63.4% of Utah’s total population — have received both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Another 185,208 Utahns have received a bivalent booster dose after completing a primary vaccine series — or 5.7% of the population.

Davis, Duchesne, Tooele, Uintah, Utah and Washington counties each reported one death. Five of those reported dead — four men and a woman — were between the ages of 65 ad 84. The sixth person who died, a man, was 85 or older.As of Thursday, 113 Utahns were hospitalized with COVID-19 — one more than the previous week. There were 21 patients in intensive care Thursday, seven more than reported last Thursday. The seven-day average for people hospitalized with COVID-19 increased 14.6% to 78.
